summer ART 2020 at home

We LOVE our Summer Art program and we’re excited to be able to do it with you at home. Beehive Art will offer weekly at-home, on-line programs, Monday to Thursday 10 – 12:30. We will have daily Zoom classes 10 -10:40 morning instruction, and a 12 -12:30 follow up sharing and afternoon ART inspiration.  Both are optional, you can also catch us another time on a pre recorded version.

We will provide an ART camp box and all supplies to create our favorite summer ART projects. Each week will bring new exciting ART projects with colorful materials and fun techniques.  If you are local, you will pick up your summer ART supply kit the Friday before your week of camp. If you require shipping, please select your week with the shipping option.

This will be my 27th year of summer ART and we are going to knock it out of the park!  If at some point in the future we CAN have kids at the studio we’ve got some fun and safe out-door projects for families in the works.

“Summer Art is fantastic! Kim runs a very well organized and fun program. My boys LOVED all of the projects and enjoyed the freedom to work at their own pace throughout the day. They absolutely loved the virtual class where they learned of the days’ activities and could show off all they had done the day before. We will definitely sign up for more sessions!”

Beehive’s summer ART is loaded with a variety of fun and exciting ART projects.
puppetry, painting, book + print making, constructing, mixed media collage, sculpture, drawing, wood working, tie-dye, miniatures + toys, weaving and more! Each week is unique, offering new materials, techniques and explorations.

Dollhouse CAMP! Our dollhouse classes were such a hit and huge fun that we’ve dedicated two weeks this summer to making the best houses ever!!  This is not limited to girls only.. I can imagine a police and fire station, super hero lair, laboratory, garage or a cool guy house. We start with designing/ painting the outside, move indoors for interior design, wallpapers, rugs, accessories and miniatures. The possibilities are endless!

“These classes are a delight for adults and children alike.  After distance learning, my kids are zoomed-out, zoom doom, done-with-zoom so I was a little nervous about a remote camp but this is wonderful!  Kim has 26 years of experience and manages to make the remote class feel like the studio.  It is the first zoom thing that has not felt like a chore and we look forward to the class as an anchor to our day.  The kids really enjoyed the materials and building and were happily occupied for most of the morning playing and then the afternoon playing with what they had made.  And I’ll admit that I spent most mornings crafting along with them and laughing at Marc’s songs as an added bonus.  Highly recommend!”

“I wanted to thank you for sparking creativity and engagement for my son through your virtual camps and classes. I’ve spent the last 20+ years of my career working at the intersection of education and innovation; most recently I was at Harvard University, where I oversaw all the University’s funding for innovative ideas that push the boundaries of teaching and learning. I’ve seen a  huge range of curriculum and programs over the years and I wanted let you know that I think you’ve done everything right about the way that you’ve designed and delivered your new blended learning programs for kids. Your kits are set up perfectly for all kids to feel successful, your structure is just the right amount of screen time and at-home doing on your own, and you’ve done a fantastic job adding fun (we love Mark’s guitar!) and making it personal so that the class feels surprisingly intimate and special.  Attending Beehive has been the most engaging activity we’ve done since COVID and it’s made me so happy to see my son so immersed in valuable learning again. Thank you for all of the imagination and cleverness that you two have put into your spectacular programs. It’s going to be a Beehive summer for us, for sure.”
